ICA Sports FC, Peterborough's premier female football provider, will be running 8 GIRLS-ONLY grassroots squads for the 2018/19 season with these teams playing regular fixtures in the S-Tech Cambridgeshire Girls League

All of our teams at ICA Sports FC work to the same Playing Ethos which provides a welcoming & enjoyable environment for learning and encourages players to develop decision-making skills at an early age to encourage a modern, flowing style of football.

Under-8 Girls – S-Tech Girls League Under-8 Division
Under-9 Girls – S-Tech Girls League Under-9 Division
Under-10 Girls – S-Tech Girls League Under-11 Blue Division
Under-11 Girls – S-Tech Girls League Under-11 Red Division
Under-12 Girls – S-Tech Girls League Under-12 Red Division
Under-13 Girls – S-Tech Girls League Under-13 A Division
Under-14 Girls – S-Tech Girls League Under-14 A Division
Under-15 Girls – S-Tech Girls League Under-15 Division
Women – S-Tech Cambridgeshire Premier League

This means that all of our teams playing in the Tiered Competitive Leagues are playing at the highest level achievable in the County League system.

This confirms that our developmental approach to football is working. By investing in our coaches and creating a highly enjoyable environment, we allow our players to flourish.

We will also soon be introducing a dedicated Under-7 Squad, ICA Lionesses, for girls in Reception & Year 1.

How did we get here?

In February 2015 ICA Sports ran their first two taster sessions for Under-8 Girls and a grand total of 7 girls turned up to give football a try. In April the sessions started on a regular weekly basis and the numbers grew slowly.

In June 2015 the girls took part in their first tournaments at St Albans & Woburn and this introduced them to competitive football for the first time. The progression from the first game of the first game, to the last game of the second tournament, was clear for everybody to see.

Participation numbers gradually picked up and the club prepared to register their first league team, an Under-9 Girls team, this along with the women’s team that was being established in parallel would be ICA Sports first ever female football teams.

As the club started to build a strong relationship with Arsenal Ladies and our ambitions were shared with a select few a phone call was received to add an Under-12 team and then an Under-10 team was soon to follow.

Then in September 2015, the club was invited to become Arsenal Ladies trusted partner in Peterborough and they became the envy of the city as they were appointed as an Arsenal Ladies Club Associate.

The Arsenal Ladies Club Associate programme was then branded as the FA WSL Sister Club Programme, which all FA WSL clubs now offer in some form.

As part of the Arsenal Women FA WSL Sister Club program, girls at ICA Sports FC have had the opportunity to attend several fun days with coaching staff from Arsenal Ladies, they met a host first team players, attend Arsenal Ladies Player Development Sessions and hosted an ICA Arsenal Women’s Day when the girls received coaching sessions delivery by Arsenal Ladies Academy Staff and then got to be Player Escorts/Flag Bearers and after the game had a personal meeting with Jordan Nobbs, Danni Carter, Chloe Kelly, Emma Byrne, Dominique Janssen & Natalia Pablos Sanchon.

All of this pioneering work truly makes us the guardians of girls football in Peterborough, with the city’s largest offering.
